At Eolia, we believe in a kind of tourism that goes beyond the visitor experience. Every guest who takes part in activities such as kitesurfing not only enjoys a unique moment, but also actively contributes to the development of the local community.

KOA: Kitesurf School for Girls

Founded in 2022,by Nicole Kiter, Humboldt Kites, started with  KOA is a kitesurf school for young people from local communities, created to open new opportunities for personal and professional growth through sport.

KOA aims to generate long-term impact by addressing social challenges such as teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, unemployment, and the lack of safe spaces for youth development.

More than a sport: growth and opportunities

The program fosters the holistic development of its participants through:

  • Future opportunities: learning skills that can become sources of income and employment.
  • Emotional well-being: strengthening self-esteem, emotional management, and the development of a life plan.
  • Safe spaces: recreational environments that promote a sense of belonging and reduce exposure to risk.
  • Healthy recreation: sport as a driver of physical, mental, and social well-being.

Environmental education is a fundamental pillar of KOA. Participants become leaders and agents of change within their communities, raising awareness about local environmental challenges.

Through activities such as documentary screenings and educational sessions in collaboration with Humboldt Kites, community engagement is strengthened and concrete actions for environmental stewardship are encouraged.
